I lived here for two years in a one bedroom with a roomate. Its spacious and pretty quiet, with light and airy feel due to the large windows. The kitchen came with good appliances and whenever there was any issue the landlord was always available and happy to help. Comes with parking as well. Its a bit of a walk to campus, but theres a bruinbus stop about two blocks down, right by westwood village as well. All in all a good place to be.
I lived in this apartment last year. I have found this apartment on a coincidence, I love the spacious living room and kitchen. Also its a 2beds and 2baths for the 5 of us, it was more than plenty of space. One of the great thing about this place is that it is a quiet/ non-party environment for those of us who prefers a studious study space. The apartment came with parkings space for a great deal. Most importantly, the building manager is Jolina who is extremely kind, friendly and extremely fast to get us maintenance help to fix anything in our apartment. I really appreciated that everything appliances such as microwave, stove, dishwasher and fridge in the apartment are brand new. Overall, I definitely recommend this place.
I lived in a studio here for two years, with one parking spot. The rent control is a real blessing, and for the price, this place seems to be the best value (location and interior-wise) out of all my friends' places. Two of my friends were priced out of their apartment the following year. The apartment was a bright and airy space, with hardwood floors and large windows, in contrast to a lot of the dark and cramped apartments in Westwood. The manager, most importantly, is very sweet. Jolina responds promptly, and takes care of repairs as quickly as she can. She's very willing to help. I've heard of some terrible stories about the management of other buildings in Westwood, so this is a pretty safe bet.
This apartment is great! I have been living here for two years in a two bedroom, and I have been more than content. The apartments are really spacious compared to others in the area, especially for the price. In addition, the complex is very quiet and the area in general is pretty far from the noisy parts of Westwood. The manager is really nice, super friendly, always quick to respond and willing to help. Nice place to live if you're looking for something quiet and roomy. Although it is somewhat of a walk to campus, it is near a BruinBus stop, which is convenient. Overall, highly recommend.
So, living in this apartment complex was awesome! My particular unit was a studio + loft, so I brought in a roommate to halve the rent and there was still plenty of space for us both. There aren't any wild parties here, and I don't think tenants talk to each other too much, but as a result it's a fantastic place to live if you're looking to study hard and finish strong on your last years at UCLA. The apartment manager is also great; she's responsive, friendly, and always makes the effort to remember your name and ask how you're doing. Some advice though: this place fills up really quickly, so make sure you get in touch with the manager early on (like in February) if you want to rent for the coming school year. Cheers!
I really enjoyed living in 690 Veteran! The building is in good shape. I lived in a studio apartment. The wood floors were beautiful and the apartment had a nice shape. It is a very spacious studio. The kitchen was on the small side, but very useable for a single person cooking at one time. The aspect of living here that I liked the most was the building manager, Mimie. She is incredibly sweet and caring! That really made the experience of living in 690 Veteran amazing! This area of Westwood is quiet, but still an easy walk to campus and to the downtown area.
I loved living in this apartment. Mimie, the apartment manager, is one of the best managers I have ever had. She is responsible, meticulous, prompt, and responsive. She is one of the nicest people around. The apartment itself is quite a good deal for the size. I lived in a bachelor unit which was quite large. I also liked that the utilities were paid for. Most of my neighbors were older graduate students or working young adults so the apartment in general is calm and quiet with no parties. Though it is on the far side from campus, it still only took about 20-30 mins to walk to the main part of campus each day.
The landlord was very nice, approachable, and sweet! The place was clean and I always saw someone: either gardeners working outside or someone mopping the hallways/elevators so you know they take care of the place. I've had trouble with the fire alarm and it was quickly handled. The place is quiet, maybe a few instances with parties but it's a great place for someone who wants peace and quiet. I don't know how the place runs but I got my apartment furnished with couches, beds, shelves, fridge, dining table and chairs, study tables, etc. Great place (:
It was really nice living here! It's not really a party-tolerant apartment complex, which I understand because there are a lot of older and professional tenants living in the area, but I was alright with that.
Whenever there was a problem, the staff were pretty quick to fix it, and the landlady, Mimie, was always great to talk to.
This apartment might seem far from campus, because it's all the way at Strathmore and Veteran, but the Weyburn Express is about two blocks way and operates from something around 7:30a to 6:30p.
Oh, and it's not really that big of a deal but I liked how it had a door at Kelton AND a door at Veteran. Pretty convenient.
