i love dr brix! this is the first a in a science class that i've gotten since 9th grade. he lets you use a study sheet for both the midterm and the final, and is so willing to help in any way possible. he's also super understanding; i had to miss the midterm for a sports tournament and he let me take an "oral quiz". also great is that he has a tight german accent. take brix for an easy science ge

Winter 2022 - This class was a mixed bag. Love the professor and TA (sweetest people) but the class was just not it. Firstly, both of them have heavy accents (even as a Chinese student I couldn't really understand them). As a result, very few of us paid attention and even went to class. The discussions were simple enough, but the TA was kinda harsh in grading the worksheets. The midterm and final were both online and proctored, but the questions were really difficult since no one paid attention to the material. He does offer a lot of extra credit though.

Fovell is the best professor I've had so far. He doesn't use a textbook or powerpoint, just his notes, chalk, and ton's of examples during lectures. Some of the topics were a little difficult to understand, but he explains them very clearly multiple times and offers extra "tutoring" office hours for those who want more help. Some questions on the midterm and final were a bit tricky and require a good understanding of the material, but as long as you go to lecture and take thorough notes, this class is a piece of cake and you learn some pretty cool things.

Lew gives quizzes that do absolutely nothing towards helping students learn. Everyone just copies answers out of the book, and no knowledge is actually acquired until the midterm or final studying. It's funny to see this little guy strutting around the stage, though. Ask to see his watch. Easy A.

Winter 2016 - If I could take this class again, I definitely would. Absolute 10/10. Professor Mitchell is awesome, and he really knows his stuff. The material is very interesting, especially the second half of the class I liked learning about the information. As for the class, it can be very easy if you do some basic things. Really pay attention to his lectures and slides, because his explanations are great for understanding the material. He does a good job at making sure the material is understandable, through good presentations and iClicker questions. After the lecture, watch the lecture again (it is podcasted which is great) and really understand the material. The reading questions come straight out of the textbook, so it is a must. The discussion quizzes are not too difficult at all. I created an account just to write a review for this class, because Professor Mitchell is really understanding. I completely slacked off the first half of this class, and I didn't pay attention to any of the lectures or the reading questions. I got a straight up D on the first midterm. Before the final, I talked to Professor Mitchell about this, and he told me that if there is a solid positive trend on the final, he would consider giving me a good grade. I studied really hard for the final, and got a A doing the things I listed above. He gave me an A- in the course. (There are only two exams, so I got a D on the first and like a 95 on the final) The midterms are very straightforward and if you watch the lectures and actually answer the Clicker questions you won't have a problem. Good luck!
