Description: Lecture, four hours. Requisite: course 103A, or consent of instructor. Development of reading, speaking, and writing abilities in modern standard Arabic, as well as cultural knowledge, through film screenings, discussions, written compositions, verbal presentations, and reading authentic literary texts from across Arabic-speaking world. Prepares students for more advanced literary Arabic courses. P/NP or letter grading.
