He is such a good teacher! Very good at speaking and is obviously passionate about the class. He is a likeable guy, no accent, and he makes the class fun. I had Caitlin for a TA and she was good, graded extremely fairly/easy. I loved the readings. Attend lecture, read, and you will get an A!

Fall 2016 - Selling Metamorphoses and Sophocles at &30 Altogether! Text 424-522-3141 Really nice Professor. He gives engaging lectures and he gets really happy when seeing students are involved in materials. The class is super clear, and you know exactly what he's expecting from you in midterm and finals. But there ARE many readings to do, and it helps if you do them by yourself rather than watching sparknotes just to pass the quiz. Highly recommending!

morgan was a good lecturer. i had her at 9am and still stayed awake more than half of the time. the first midterm is cake, but after that, the second midterm, paper, and final were tough. it all depends on your TA, and how he/she grades. (on the whole, they are all pretty rigid). if you dont like keeping up with reading, then steer clear of this class. one important fact_ everything in mythology has to do with sex, semen, the womb, fertility, and sex.

Spring 2020 - Professor Purves did her best to make online teaching as effective as possible. She moved around deadlines and listened to feedback and adjusted the way she taught class. She even found pdfs of every single reading (so you didn't have to spend any money at all in this class!). She's, like, mom funny too. Content-wise the class is really interesting, the readings are all mostly easy and entertaining, and the grading was pretty gentle. The class has two vocab quizzes, a short writing assignment, a longer paper, and an (optional this time) final. It sounds like a lot, but nothing is that difficult. Definitely recommend!
