Teaching Preparation Seminar: Writing in Disciplines
Description: (Formerly numbered 495A.) Seminar, three hours every other week. Limited to graduate students. Required of all teaching assistants for Writing II courses not exempt by appropriate departmental or program training and open to students seeking Graduate Certificate in Writing Pedagogy. Training focused on composition pedagogy, assessment of student writing, guidance of revision process, and specialized writing problems that may occur in disciplinary contexts. Practical concerns of creating assignments, marking and grading essays, and conducting peer reviews and conferences. May be repeated for credit. S/U grading.

Fall 2019 - Terrible TA. Extremely pretentious, nitpicky and petty. He appears soft-spoken but speaks very melodramatically during discussions and often hands out platitudes when it comes to writing advice. He likes to find faults in your writing to argue for the sake of arguing, and occasionally mentions his teaching awards and non-scholarly achievements to lend credibility to his arguments. It is better to seek Professor Manojlovic for advice, she is way more sincere, helpful and genuine.
