Description: Lecture, two hours. Introduction to broad range of topics in workplace safety through lectures on safety hazards, their classification, metrics, control philosophy, and control methods. Specific topics include traditional safety rubrics, such as fall hazards, machine safety, and fire hazards. Introduction to concepts of safety culture and philosophy. Review and presentation of peer-reviewed articles on topics relevant to course material. Letter grading.
