Nutritional Epidemiology I

Description: (Same as Community Health Sciences M251.) Lecture, two hours; discussion/laboratory exercise, one hour. Preparation: introductory biostatistics and epidemiology courses. Review of all aspects of contemporary nutrition sciences that require application of epidemiologic principles and methods, ranging from food-borne outbreak investigation to evidence-based regulatory assessment of health claims for foods. Experience in actual world of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to nutrition and health or disease outcomes. S/U or letter grading.
