Professor Burnett was a pretty good lecturer and an overall cool guy. He made lectures enjoyable and it didn't hurt that the course material was pretty interesting. The course reader, although long, contained articles that I actually wanted to read. Burnett encouraged us to look at why the world works the way it does through a completely different eye than we are used to. Regan Maas was a good TA...she made discussion enjoyable, knew her stuff, and actually cared about her students. The midterm and final were very straight forward, especially if you go to the review sessions. I would definitely recommend him.

Prof Cosgrove is one of the best professors i have had at UCLA. He is definetly the most approachable professor ive had, and will go out of his way to talk to students and make sure they understand the topics. He is extremely passionate about the subject and it shows in his lectures. Cosgrove taught the topics so that we cuold apply it to our everyday lives, and it helps you to think about the world in a different way.

I think that Curry does a good job because the material he teaches seems to be difficult to teach in the first place. However if you pay attention you'll understand what he is talking about. Yeah, the lectures go slow but you still learn to see the world in a different perspective. To do well you have to write well.

This guy is so boring. All he did was post up slides during lecture and dim the lights. He was a nice guy, but his lectures were incredibly difficult to stay awake for. His exams where straightforward. And if you do take this class, hope that you have a good TA, cause that's what seems to make the bigger difference.

Winter 2018 - So overall I would have enjoyed this class had I had a better TA, because I was not having it with the one I had. In terms of Professor Herrera, he was fairly good, although when I took the class he was only just starting at UCLA so he was still practicing his lecturing techniques, but they were by no means terrible and was often fairly engaging. Your biggest issue with Geog 3 will definitely be your TA, but you really don't have to worry about this professor.
