Description: (Same as Biological Chemistry M140.) Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Requisite: course 165A. Cancer causes and genetics. Effects of cell transformation on cell growth and metabolism. Altered cell cycle, metabolism, and differentiation pathways in cancer cells. Tumor microenvironment contributions to cancer malignancy, including angiogenesis, metastasis, and immune system evasion. Letter grading.

Winter 2015 - Easy and interesting. I think the midterm average was like 85. No textbook readings. You have to read some papers and present on one as a group. The other professor, Shuai, sucks though. Still easy, but did not like his teaching style. Overall, I think this class is useful and anyone who cares to put in effort will pretty much get an A.
