Description: Seminar, one hour. Introduction to neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), group of infections that particularly affect low-income countries and impose major burden on human health and productivity, while at same time attracting relatively scarce resources and attention from global community. Covers factual information about diseases, as well as psychologic and social consequences of them. Critically consideration of complexity of problem NTDs pose and analysis of why they are neglected.
