Fall 2019 - DeSilva is a very funny professor and will give you a multitude of opportunities to get full credit on all of your work before finals week. Although this might seem like an amazing thing, it is VERY IMPORTANT to study the material he goes over in the lecture. It can sometimes be fast-paced, especially for those who have never taken any sort of music theory, so despite having a nice casual classroom vibe, but it is very important for anyone who is taking this class to do the work and do it with integrity. You can easily get overwhelmed by the amount of course work if you do not study since everything that gets previously taught will help you understand what's upcoming. If you allocate enough time to do it, you'll be fine with the exams. Music theory is not an easy endeavor and takes a lot of practice but it's doable. Good Luck! :)

Winter 2022 - Phelps is an ass. He gives you quizzes you do not understand and acts like you should know the material (maybe I would if he taught it). You learn more from the homework than him. Despite being garbage at teaching you anything he is condescending all the time and is straight up rude to students. Get out of Phelps class if you can!
