Summer 2019 - I never wore my seatbelt while driving to school because I wanted to die before making it to this class. It is the absolute WORST. The exams are IMPOSSIBLE to pass because they require you to answer everything word for word. If you slightly misspell something you get points off. I got points off for forgetting to add an adjective before my answer. I didn't listen to the reviews here and thought I would pass by studying hard but it is indeed as bad as everyone says it is. Save yourselves and your mental health.

I took LS2 with Dr. Esdin. Dr. Esdin is a very good professor in every aspect except his written communication skills. He is a good lecturer; he makes concepts easy to understand, gives interesting examples, and he's funny. He tries to be fair by normalizing section scores and being clear about what he won't test on, but his exams are problematic. He writes badly worded questions that are ambiguous and often times misleading. This is common in the LS department, unfortunately, but he didn't allow us to ask questions, which made it a pretty serious problem. Lots of people missed questions because he was unclear and didn't allow us to clarify. That being said, he lectures well, is very organized, and does try to be open to student concerns.

Avoid Fain for LS2. He is a good lecturer but his midterm and final was ridiculous. His exams aren't only what is on the slides for his power points but his questions require the most intricate details he barely went over in class. He's really nice in lecture- but one-on-one in person he's can be a jerk. Other than that, good luck!

Friscia is a funny guy. I like his "I don't care if you're not here" attitude. I took his dinosaur class, and it was awesome! He is a good lecturer, even though, sometimes the lectures were kind of boring. For the most part, I loved the class, and he was a great professor. I took E & S Sci 17.

I took LS2 with Dr. Simmons and Dr. Cooper. Dr. Simmons had more personality, but his slides contained only pictures and little explanations. He often added information that was not found on the slides or in the books to test if you pay attention in lecture. Dr. Cooper was the easier of the two professors, but Dr. Simmons was a decent professor.
