Professor Gable made herself available to our class. She was a good lecturer and the exercises we did in class helped us write our research paper. The tests were not tricky and were very fair. The grading was pretty fair also and we got to work in pairs/groups a lot in 136b. I thought she was an approachable and helpful instructor and showed she cared about her student's learning.

I don't know why Professor Huo got such negative ratings in all of these previous reviews. Maybe she has gotten much better since these last reviews were posted. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about taking her class after reading these reviews but I now realize that Bruinwalk is not necessarily a reliable source for Professor reviews. Maybe large class sizes has something to do with it seeing as how these reviews were all about Psych 135, but I felt that my 20 person class very much enjoyed the class as much as I did. Even though it was an 9am, 2 hour lecture, everyone was attentive and attended class for the most part. Professor Huo was very knowledgable on the subject and was very patient when it came to questions and explanations of specific concepts and topics. Most of all, she gave off the impression that she cared about her students...and not just about issues pertaining to the class. She always encouraged people to come to office hours even if just to talk about whatever you felt like talking about. For the graduating seniors in our class she told us to look for her at graduation and that she looked forward to meeting our families. To me, that shows that she cares and wants to be involved with all her students on a level beyond just schoolwork. Highly recommended if you plan on taking a Psychology Lab.
