Description: Seminar, three hours. Preparation: at least two upper-division courses on China in any social sciences discipline. Introduction to current research questions in Chinese sociology, as well as major themes in study of Chinese society, both historical and contemporary, including demographic, economic, political, and social change before and after 1949. S/U or letter grading.
