Fall 2015 - Ajaan Jenjit is definitely one of the nicest professors I've had at UCLA. Her classes are definitely worth taking. Sometimes she goes a little off topic, but her stories are always interesting and funny. No textbook is required since she gives handouts of the material during class. Her tests and quizzes are fairly simple. Her class is easy, but it does get harder because of the difficulty of the language, but not because of her teaching. There is homework for her classes, but it usually consists of one page where you answer about 5 questions. It's really short. At the end of the quarter there is an oral exam, which requires you telling her a story in Thai, then asking her some questions about that story and then she asks you some questions. Reading is also tested during the oral exam. She makes the language easily to learn since she teaches at a decent pace. She's readily available for office hours. And if you miss class, you can always go to her office hours. Attendance is mandatory, so that may reflect in your grade. Overall, she is one of my favorite for professors and I definitely recommend taking her class.
