Fall 2015 - Karolina is a pretty unenthusiastic lecturer, but she tells you exactly what she wants on papers, quizzes, and projects. As long as you use ideas from lecture and readings in your assignments, you can get an A- or better. The TAs do most of the grading and they were pretty easy for our class. There are three quizzes throughout the term, and Karolina adjusted the scores up so the average was above 80 on all of them. She's sometimes funny unintentionally. I think one time she said something along the lines of not getting paid enough to stand up there and teach and everybody laughed. Idk. I would recommend. I'm a science major and this was a pretty straightforward course. As the quarter went on, she cared less and less, which worked for us in the end. She seemed like she was giving out As left and right

Fall 2018 - One of the easiest, most informative, and relevant courses I have ever taken while at UCLA. The exams are wholly based on the lecture slides despite him encouraging students to study the readings as well. The exams are a mixture of multiple choice, short response, and long essay. I would highly recommend this class especially if you are interested in the impact that city planning has on a number of other factors.
