Description: Lecture, three hours. Enforced requisite: course 6 with grade of C or better or Vietnamese placement test. Designed to strengthen and build on language skills previously acquired at beginning and intermediate levels. Content-based readings and discussion, with various aspects of Vietnam, particularly its culture. Readings include both authentic original works and simplified texts. May be taken independently for credit. P/NP or letter grading.

His joy for teaching really reflects through his interaction with the class, the way he is concerned about students' wellness and offers constant encouragement. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable of the subject matter, he is kind, and wise in general. I learned a lot from him, in class and outside of class. I appreciated all his efforts.
