Fall 2020 - Overall, this class wasn't very difficult. Our weekly homework was a 400-500 word paragraph responding to a question the professor asks about the lecture material at the beginning of the week. We have until Saturday of that week to respond, which was a very reasonable deadline. Our midterm and final were actually oral exams with your TA and they were open note, so if you prepare well, it's pretty easy to do well on those. The lectures themselves are engaging and professor Moore does a good job of condensing some pretty dense reading into something much more easily understandable. Overall, it's a very interesting class and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fairly easy GE.

Took International and Area Studies 1 with him. Excellent lecturer and very interesting topics! He talks a lot about current events and sprinkles stories about his studies, his love for cats, and fashion critiques on propaganda posters! Course is compromised of a midterm, weekly posts, and a final. Readings are crucial, however both he and the TAs (I had Clare Beer - she is an amazing TA!) go over them in full detail.

Spring 2018 - Came into the class thinking it would be alright but the grader during this quarter was super hard so everyone got pretty low grades for the first test (my lowest grade in my entire UCLA career). Thought I knew the material, but guess she wanted more..but it got better as the class went on. The professor is super funny and approachable and lectures are always online right after so super convenient for those who don't want to attend lecture or fall asleep a lot.

Fall 2016 - Take IA 1 with him. Lecture does not count attendance but is helpful if you can go. Grade break down : 1midterm+ weekly response 350-500+ final+ discussion TA Beer is extremely nice and helpful! Discussion count attendence and require activeness, But the discussion is very engaging! Grade is not harsh. As long as you try your best, you can definitely do it!
