Amazing professor. I'm a sociology major who took this class as a G.E. because it seemed interesting. The class was taught by both Walker and Hill. Very clear lectures and the book is easy to follow as well. He will even explain things in lecture if you have any questions. Selling the Loose Leaf text Psychology in Modules for $55. I accept Venmo and will ship priority. Sorry, I moved out of LA its the only way. I will ship asap and give you a tracking number. I paid so much for the books I've been collecting over my time at UCLA. I want to give someone a good deal! HMU. Text: (424) 204-2951. Its loose leaf but I put it back in its original shrinkwrap. I'll send you pics so you can see. No damage whatsoever I take great care of my things. especially textbooks so I can sell them back lol.
I took it during Spring 2016 : First half Professor Hill, then Professor Walker
I felt like during Professor Hill's lectures, he had loads of terms and information that we should have gone over, but he rushed through everything. The lecture is suppose to be 2 hours long, but he would always let us out an hour early. That sounds great to all college students, but not when you are forced to rush through very important terms that do show up in his midterm.
Hill was a great professor. He was very engaging and didn't waste time during the lecture like Walker did. Attending his lectures made the first midterm far easier because of his teaching style and personality. It made the information very easy to remember and stick in your brain.
If you don't attend lectures, you could still get the information from the textbook, but you may miss a few things that he mentions or posts. I didn't read the textbook simply because his slides and teaching style were so effective; take good notes to facilitate your memory of his lectures. Give yourself a few days before exams to make notecards of the terms and you will do just fine.
The class is 50% mdterm/ 50% Final.
I got an A on the midterm, but a C on the Final, so I ended up getting a B.
He said the final would be easier than the midterm, but it actually as kinda hard. So be prepared to study hard for the final!
