Winter 2018 - For this first three weeks I was really overwhelmed and lost in this class. I started going to office hours for the professor and the TA every week and it drastically improved my understanding of the course. Professor Karagozian was so helpful and patient and didn't just gove you the answer which I liked. My TA was helpful for checking hw answers (the textbook solutions were unavailable online everywhere) and going over relevant problems in discussion. The first midterm was kind of tough (average of ~65) and on the second midterm the average was even lower (~60) but I did a lot better on the second one. I recommend reading the book and doing practice problems in order to gain exposure to a wide variety of problems. Also a couple of problems that we went over in discussion were almost identical to questions on the midterms. Read the book, go to office hours, and study with practice problems for the tests and you'll be fine.
