Really liked professor Stanton. She wants students to do well. However, this class isn't an easy A. The work you put in is the grade you will receive. I do recommend!

Loved this professor. Honestly, I learned so much from her. But make sure you really read through the questions for the tests, because I got answers wrong for not being careful. In other words, be super attentive because some of the test questions are tricky. The only sucky thing is that the final is 100 questions, so it’s pretty overwhelming. With that being said, the paper isn’t difficult at all. She’s a very sweet, encouraging lady and wants you to do well. Take this class!

Dr Stanton is a great professor. Intro Health Psychology is a very interesting course. The professor does an excellent job of creating a warm, engaging environment, which allows students to engage in discussion of the lecture material. The material is also practical to one's life.

The readings are long. The tests are fair. Do yourself a favor and attend all the lectures (not podcast), read through the material and engage in class discussion.

Dr Stanton has a fun personality and to her credit, knows MANY of her students names. She really cares about what she does.

I loved Professor Stanton! She is so sweet and never condescending when answering questions. Her lectures are very interesting, because she brings in a lot of examples from her own research and work experience. To do well, you MUST go to lecture and take really good notes. The only thing I disliked about this class was how strictly the paper was graded. For the paper, I would suggest going to directly to her and asking her for feedback, because ultimately, she is the one that gives the overall grade. Other than that this class was awesome. It was my first psych upper div and she really made it enjoyable. The difficulty of this class was pretty low relative to my other courses. My greatest regret is that I didn't go to her office hours and get to know her more, because she seems like an awesome person!

You must attend every lecture to do well on her midterm and final since questions are based off of lecture slides and A LOT of case studies and concepts that she elaborates on from her lectures. 90% of exam questions are from her lectures and 10% are from the book (just read through the chapters, be able to recognize the bold terms, and review with the summary points). Paper is easy as long as you are specific and reference a lot of concepts from the book. Very chill professor and very easy A class if you have the discipline to attend lectures, work on the paper ahead of time, and read.

Dr. Stanton is an AMAZING professor and an incredible person. Also, she's president of APA Division 38, Health Psychology, which means she definitely knows what she is talking about. Her lectures were informative yet entertaining, and always effectively delivered (if a little rushed at points - but that was only because she always stopped to answer questions). To get an A, you need to attend every lecture as well as read the book (knowing the main concepts of each subsection should suffice). She definitely includes some minutiae on the exams, but in general they are very fair. I would also suggest being very thorough in your paper; for instance, if you do the health behavior change, be sure to mention specific steps you took at the start and continue with detail all the way through your relapse prevention techniques. Basically, if you put in the work, you will be rewarded in this class - and it is a privilege to take it with her!

I've had to retake psych 150 due to health issues (took Roebling the first time around) and thought Stanton was a better professor overall. Her lectures are structured, followed the textbooks in immense detail, easy to follow, informative and she's very kind. You can tell she puts alot of effort in trying to teach to her students well and she's very open and receptive to her students' needs. She always tries to answer all ?'s and is never condescending. At first I thought I could get away with just reading the textbooks since it seemed that the majority of test ?'s came from there but I realized that you must also attend all lectures as well to get an A since she elaborates on the topics in great detail. Overall, GREAT professor, very caring and hardworking, and makes every effort to make the classroom experience not feel like a 100+ class. must take!! :)

One of the best professors I have had the honor of taking at UCLA. She is a great lecturer and makes an effort to learn names in a class of 200+ students. I have never met a professor who cares as much for his/her students! The exams are relatively simple as long as you take good notes in class, which isn't hard to do since she goes at a pace that makes her lectures easy to follow! The class consists of 1 midterm, one 5 page pager (which is graded fairly) and a final. Psych 150 WITH STANTON is a must take and not just because it is an 'easy A'!

MOST AMAZING PROFESSOR AT UCLA! She truly cares about all 200 of her students in the class! She does not rush the material like most professors. She spends a lot of time on examples because she puts a lot of them on her midterm/final. The paper in the class is pretty easy. She always answered someones question even if we were slightly behind on the material. I think because she was behind half a chapter she took it and we weren't tested on it for the final. She is a amazing lecturer. I never went to her office hours but I still felt like she cared about me out of her 200 students. She has a lot of extra credit opportunities by going to case conferences. Her class was decent as long as you did the work.
