Physics prevented me from graduating at the top of my high school class, and so I hated / feared it for a while-- until Dr. Nassar came along. Nassar is PHENOMENAL. After taking 6A with him, I understood mechanics SO well. I could see how beautiful the math is, and why it made sense, and why the equations are or are not correct. His lesson plans are very well-constructed that he finishes lecture two whole meetings before exam date (without rushing at all!), so those two whole meetings he spends not on new material but reviewing for the imminent exam. Midterms in Nassar's class are similar to practice exams he gives out and goes over. The final is more challenging than the midterms, but it's not scary or impossible. About four of the questions on the practice final appeared on the actual final. Class average is high at 88%, which he pegs at a B to a B+. Nassar is very caring about his students. He will give his time generously to anyone who needs help. Office hours are nearly always crowded, but he extends it to accommodate people who need to see him one-on-one. He is handsome, kind and un-boring in and outside class. I have naught but much respect for this man. Dr. Nassar, thank you for making me think again. Maraming salamat.
