I'm not sure if Artur is continuing to teach LS courses, but I found that he was really engaging and effective - especially for being a new lecturer. His lectures sometimes went over by a few minutes, but he was always thorough in his explanations and took questions and re-explained if necessary. Students felt comfortable asking questions and expressing confusion, and I was always engaged during class and actually wanted to pay attention. His office hours were incredibly helpful and he didn't mind taking more time to explain something if one person was still confused. He was also super approachable and open to talking about graduate school and research, among other things, which I think a lot of students really appreciated. I generally felt really supported in this course - the LS department does a good job of assuaging math-anxious students like myself, and I found myself actually enjoying the material and wanting to learn more. I think Artur genuinely cared about his students' well-being and wanted to help people understand what was being taught. Would definitely recommend!

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! He is a GREAT math professor (coming from someone who loves math) He is very engaging and makes funny jokes/ laughs throughout the class. This class is somewhat of a follow up from 30A (some content is sort of new but not really (matrices etc)). His hw assignments were doable use lecture slides for help/ office hours, and great for exam practice. The labs some were challenging others straightforward, for TA I had Hao Lee and he was very very helpful! If you’re stuck on a question he will walk you through for you to come up with solutions and can be funny at times. The midterm was neither hard nor easy, more easy than hard though, I did okay but that’s on my end making those tiny mistakes. The final was also hard nor easy depending on some questions, if you go to his final review/ office hours (which highly recommend) he will walk through practice problems from past exams which is VERY helpful as you can review your answers and compare thought process etcc. If you study efficiently you’re set to do good on exams! Pay attention in lecture, do practice problems from past exams/textbook, and go to review sessions + office hours and you’re good to go!

Quarter: Fall 2019
Grade: A+

Took this class fall '19 which was my first quarter at UCLA and Artur's first quarter teaching. He is so organized and so knowledgeable on this topic that I had no idea that was his first quarter, I didn't learn that until I took 30B with him winter quarter after that. Highly underrated prof. I didn't hear students talk about him much (probably because he was new) but going forward students need to know he is a great professor. His slides are organized very well and he is a prof with good character who responds to the needs of the students. If you've taken AP Calc in high school, you could easily get an A in this class by doing the bare minimum, but an A+ is really not hard if you apply yourself a bit and go to office hours.

The best thing about this prof is how excited he gets about math. As a student that means so much because we often subconsciously wonder if the professor isn't interested in the topic, why should we? He prioritizes and responds to the needs of his students. His lectures are well organized and the homework is helpful to understanding the topics. There is no busy work, everything we are assigned in this class is conducive to improving your understanding. I had Artur for 30A and 30B, and I tried my best to get into his LS 40 class. My favorite prof so far.

Artur is amazing!!! My favorite professor thus far! I had mine for 30A and I took his class again for 30B! Super clear in lecture! He seeks to help all students whenever he can! His practice exams are the most helpful for studying; use these to prepare and you will get an A! Homework is not dense at all and it was graded on completion! My quarter he didn't test on coding but I am not sure if that changed. Overall he's very passionate about math and is so funny. I would definitely take his courses if I had the option to do so!!! He's the best!!

Going into LS30A, I knew this class wouldn't be too difficult compared to the Math 3 series or 31 series. However, I was a little apprehensive about taking it with a professor who had no reviews on Bruin Walk. I soon came to realize that Artur wasn't a bad professor by any means. He is a nice guy and genuinely cares about his students. He makes sure that students understand the material by allowing them to ask questions during lecture and he encourages attending his office hours if need be. The midterm wasn't too difficult, but there was one question that was a little tricky. The final was much easier compared to the midterm as long as you put the work in to understand the concepts. Overall, I would highly recommend taking LS30A with Artur!

This class is insanely easy. All the lectures are recorded, but before lecture, you have to watch mini lectures recorded by Will Conley, which makes the learning extremely easy. This quarter the professors were extremely lenient and gave out a lot of extra credit. There were homework problems from the online textbook, labs, and small activities to be completed every week. They made each category worth 2 less than the total amount, so if there were 10 homework assignments, then you only needed to complete 8 to get 100% and anything extra was extra credit. The material in this class was very straight forward and easy to learn. However, it is very easy to slack off and get behind on the material, so make sure you stay on top of your work. I didn't do almost all of the labs, 2 homework assignments, 1 weekly activity, and I didn't take the (optional) final, and I passed so you all should be fine.

I LOVE ARTUR!! He is such an amazing and approachable professor who truly cares about student learning. He is very personable and he handled the online transition (due to COVID19) very well and I think it reflects on his character very well. He is very honest and real and relateable. I wish he taught more classes:)

Artur did really well for his first quarter teaching! He's really passionate and is always willing to help out students if they're struggling. I highly recommend going to his office hours just to get to know him more! His homework is graded on participation (which is clutch) so you basically just need to pay attention to his lectures and take notes. I liked him so much as a professor I am taking him for LS30B this quarter and I am going to take LS40 with him next quarter as well.

I really liked his class. You could tell he really cared for his students!! He’d be the type to go out of his way to provide more resources!! I was hesitant to take a professor without reviews on BruinWalk but he ended up being a really great prof. He really does understand college kid struggles and does his best to further explain anything that is confusing. Although, we do run out of time sometimes for class!! He’s really funny and nice!! I like that he held study sessions for the midterm and the final!! Really if anything the only thing I hate about the class was the mandatory 2 hour lab each week since those were tedious. Would totally take him again!!
