So overall Global Pop with Dollar is really easy. There are two papers (one of which you have to go to a world music concert for) and two exams. They are both ridiculously easy (I think the average on the midterm was around a 95%). The only downside to this class is that the two hour lectures can be really really boring. Like so boring that 20/300 people dropped in the first week. HOWEVER, if you stick through it the class is a very easy A. He also gave 3% extra credit with a writing assignment based on one of the documentaries watched in class. The playlists aren't really that important to listen to except for the midterm and final playlist (obviously).

Very easy class. If you are looking for an easy A this is it. It is an interesting class but I definitely think it would have been more fun if there were more in class presentations since it is so much about music. Overall I had a good time in this class but the lectures are very long and can get a bit boring, that being said I would take this class again Dr. Doleac is a sweet guy and he cares about his students.

Very easy class but lectures were incredibly boring which is disappointing because I think the class had the potential to be very interesting. We were given a study guide before the midterm and final and it pretty much had all the answers for the test on it. You also had to be able to recognize songs upon listen but luckily you only needed to know the genre, country of origin, and musical features of ~12 songs per test which was not hard. I think if Professor Doleac were just more organized and prepared for his lecture the class would have been more engaging but he always seemed kind of scatterbrained and would show up to class late.
