Easiest class ever with a kind and helpful professor! As long as you participate in class discussions, complete the assignments, attend mandatory conferences, and continually work on your essays throughout the quarter, you'll do stellar. Lisle is constructive with her comments, and if you fix what she has asked you to change in your essay, she'll love that. The class had many mini assignments throughout the quarter (about two per week) that should only take you about 30 minutes each to complete. There were three 5-page essays due at the end of the quarter that you submit in a portfolio with your original drafts that you worked on with her. Again, if you stay on top of your work throughout the quarter, you will do great.

I'm selling her course reader for $10! Email me at ajmonteleone28@g.ucla.edu if you're interested.

Such a sweet lady, one of my easiest A's. All you have to do is write and say what she wants you to say. Your first few papers are just for her to gauge where you are, and so they only receive a provisional grade. The last one, she just wants you to apply her feedback. She's super chill and funny, I'd take her again.

Quarter: Fall 2017
Grade: A

Professor Lisle is an excellent professor and an easy A! There are only 3 essays for the year; after you turn in the rough draft, she schedules a meeting with you and reviews your paper and gives you a provisional grade and tells you what to fix. As long as you fix exactly what she wants and participate some in class with the readings, this class will be a breeze. Her essay prompts are pretty easy and she uses the same ones every year and gives examples of past work. These can guide you in what she wants as well!

Professor Lisle is very nice and friendly. In the class, there are usually readings assigned weekly from the course reader along with 3 essays over the course of the quarter. For each paper, you must attend a conference with her where she gives you tips for improvements and a potential grade. At the end of the quarter, your "final" is turning revisions of the three papers, which if you do the corrections effectively, you will most likely get an A. Also participation is important so attendance and speaking up in class will be helpful for your grade! Overall, a pretty easy class, and the workload is manageable and very doable.

Professor Lisle is a great professor. She is very engaging during the lectures and does her best to help her students excel in the class. The class is composed of 3 essays total. The first 2 are ones that are around 4-5 pages long while the 3rd essay is a research paper that is around 5-7 pages long. She strives to help her students be the best by having appointments to review your essay where she will meet with you one on one to grade them. Although I was intimidated at first, she was very easy going and helpful which made me want to meet with her regarding my essays. I would definitely recommend her! I wish she taught English Composition 3 but I'm glad to have taken her class.

She's a really cool professor. She tries her best to help you when you are writing your essays which in this case were 3. You start off with 3 and then those get revised , until you have a finalized version to submit together as a portfolio. Then, you have one-on-one meetings with her where she gives you a provisional grade , and tells you how to make the paper better so you could start your revisions. Personally, most of the comments I received where grammatical so I'm not sure if it was good , or she just doesn't go into full detail. Besides the essays , you have readings from the course reader, which you will most likely review in class and where participation is important. Overall , the work is acceptable and she's a really nice lady who is there to help.

I took Professor Lisle during Spring 2013 and I absolutely LOVED her! Her weekly reading assignment responses were easy and the reading was easy too. They were very short readings so it didn't take long to read them. I thought she was very funny and communicated well with the students. She always talked in an energetic way so I was never bored in her class. I even enjoyed attending class (it may have even been my favorite class). I don't usually talk during discussions in my other classes but with her class I participated more than one time per class (also because participation was a big part of our grade!). There are no midterms and only 3 essays in which 2 are story telling and the last one is a research paper on a topic of our choice. We have until the end of the quarter to revise all the essays and turn them in with a portfolio. The first two essays were easy although I got a B-/C+ & B/B- on the drafts which made me anxious. The last essay I had a difficult time understanding how to write it, but she helped me out during the appointments with her to review our essay. I thought I did poorly on the last essay, but I ended up getting a A in the class! I honestly revised all my essays the night before the portfolio was due and didn't revise them too much after she had read over it and gave me feedback. I think she gives a slightly lower anticipated grade on the drafts to make us really revise it really well, but don't rely on this statement too much, as I may be wrong, because I did all my assignments on time and talked a lot during class! Overall she is a very caring professor and it was easy to get an A! Another note is that I did not talk to Professor Lisle personally besides the mandatory appointments to read over our essays, which I regret because I wish I had gotten to know her more, so no I did not get an A because I was a student who went to office hours or anything.

A little advice: BE CAREFUL WITH THE RESEARCH ESSAY THOUGH BECAUSE SHE HATES PLAGIARISM, EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT.
