Fall 2019 - I love Professor Li, as she is the most engaging and caring professor I have ever met in UCLA. A lot of people take this class to receive the easy credits since it's an instrument class, and she obviously doesn't like the people who don't want to participate or do a horrible job at doing easy things. However, if she knows you are an engaging student who want to learn as well, she becomes incredibly warm to you. I am very much interested in Music, and would show her my own creation. She would actually use her own spare time and give me some suggestions on my projects. If you want to take her class for easy A and easy credit, sure, she will not fail you, however, if you really do enjoy the subject of Chinese Ensemble and is an engaging student, then by all means, this class offers you a home, and she is the best thing you can happen to you in UCLA.

I took her for Ethno 91 and 158 C this quarter. It is true she's the one of the nicest, sweetest people you'll ever meet. However, don't let emotions get in your way of clear vision! she's also a great preformer, but bad at teaching a LARGE ensemble. She's very strict and if you miss any class you are most bound NOT to get an A. If you don't get it yet, she's O.K., not the best, but O.K. Compared to the other ethno professors she's the toughest.

well, this is a good class if u wanna just have fun and get some credit for it. it's pretty lenient... it's once per week... plus practicing time (which is on ur own time). no midterm. final performance, dat's it. attendance really counts. it's a great way to get away from all those books!!
