Niemann rocks. I had a tough quarter, and got a 47% on the midterm. But I worked my ass off and scored a 91% on the final. That gave me an 85% average and I emailed him asking to round up to a B+ considering the upward trajectory . . . king gave me an A-. What a G. Definitely go to his office hours, he's super engaging!

Besides all that, he really listens to his students and I can tell he really cares about both our learning and well being.

I think Neimann is a great professor for 5C. His lectures were engaging and informative, and his exams were not too terrible. I think this was the easiest of the 5 series, but I received a lower grade in Neimann's class than some of the others because his grading scheme more focused on his exams as opposed to labs and homework. With that being my main criticism of the class, it was pretty okay otherwise.

if you have to take this class, take it with prof. Niemann. he is very clear about what he does and doesn't want you to know and is very helpful if you have questions. Exams are super easy and he'll even give you hints about what's on it during lectures. he does a review before even exam which is very similar to the actual thing. for my class attendance to lecture and discussion wasn't mandatory, but I have a feeling he might change that since nobody showed up to anything anymore.

Take Niemann!! His class actually
makes sense and if you go to class you will do well. His new way of assigning homework on kudu is super helpful and has old test questions. You even get a sheet of paper for the final.
Out of all the professors Niemann is best by far and I wish I could have taken him for my other physics classes

For someone who really despises Physics, Professor Niemann makes Physics quite a bit more tolerable! I've had him for two quarters now (Physics 5B and 5C). His lectures are easy to understand, his lecture slides are relatively thorough and informative compared to past STEM professors I've had, and his lecture/review material are all relative to what he tests you on for midterms and finals. The 5 series is pretty good in terms of professors, but I would highly recommend Niemann for the 5 series!
