Basically (<- get used to hearing this word) she was average. Her teaching was not great, not much better than the textbook (though I found that if I went to lecture I didn't need to read the textbook).

Midterm average: 56%, Final average: 41% so her tests were pretty hard. Her grading on the tests was not generous as the M16 student noted. You need to FINISH the problem and double check it to get full credit. In some senses it was more beneficial to spend your time doing the easier problems and checking them to get points for certain.

did not like this class with her. had pop quizzes in lecture, so you had to attend them. homeworks were difficult and her lectures often didn't help with them. really low averages on midterm and final grades, so the curve helps out a lot. if you can take it with another teacher, your best bet would probably be to do that.

When I took EE 102 with Professor Cabric, she was just getting started teaching, but even in her first class, she was pretty effective at teaching the material.

Each day, she would write out a daily agenda to give us an idea of what we were going to learn in class that day. Many times, she'll review the concepts learned in previous lecture to reinforce our understanding and help us comprehend the later parts of the course.

The homework itself was relatively okay, but there were always one or two really tricky questions that required you to go to office hours. The midterm was somewhat difficult, and the final was pretty difficult. The averages on both exams weren't impressive to say the least, but at least the curve helped me get an A- in the class.

All in all, I would recommend Professor Cabric for an EE course. Maybe not M16 because I heard that she just lectures with powerpoint slides, but in a math-intensive class, I would recommend her.

There are many problems with this teacher:
1- She teaches this class as much general as she can because the text book she uses is very general. The problem is that there is some stuff that herself and her TA's do not understand. When you go to ask her about it she will send you with the TA. Then the TA (jun wang) will tell you that he already explained that in the discussion and that he doesn't want to go trough again. If you insist, he will get mad at you (yes, mad at you and when he is mad he will scream at you) and your grades will suffer the consequences or during the midterm he will ignore you if you have any question.
2- She has her own people who get more help than the rest of the students during the quarter. Her favorite students are usually ranked on the top ten whatever your effort is to be there (I'm talking about this quarter, I ignore if the same happened before). So if you want to be ranked on the top ten, then just try to be one of her favorite students, any academic effort will be useless.
3- When she is in a bad mood she is very disrespectful ( with some students, because with her favorite students she is always very gentle. I cannot say if there is a discriminatory issue behind it. A more careful observation is needed to get a more accurate conclusion )
4-To all of this stressful issues, I have to add the fact that this class is NOT easy. All of these issues accumulated at the end of the quarter make this class almost unbearable. You have to practice Yoga or any other relaxing activity or your nervous could be cracked down (If you are one of the unfortunate students who have to suffer on your own flesh all of these problems created by the teacher and her TA's).
In conclusion, I won't take any other class with this teacher, unless there is not any other option.
In conclusion, my advice for anybody is to avoid her, unless you are her friend.

I don't really understand why her ratings are so low. She is not the best professor in the world, but she still does a decent job teaching. I usually perform average or slightly above average, and I did not find this class too challenging with cabric

Cabric was a really great teacher. She would begin every class with a review of the material, then lecture. Her lectures went by very slowly and she would slow down the class to make sure students understood the material.

Her tests are heavily based on the homeworks and project. Doing those should get you a good grade.

Reading the textbook was unnecessary. I stopped doing it after the first chapter.

Avoid her at all costs. Her lecture slides are copied and pasted from other university's lecture slides. Her TAs and her do not know the material well themselves. To top it all off, their expectations for the students are on cloud nine. I took her because she was excellent in teaching 102. Sadly, that may be the only subject she can teach.

Albeit my interest in Electrical Engineering coming into my first EE course at UCLA was fairly high, Professor Cabric made me have a really tough time liking and understanding the material that was presented throughout the course. Cabric was extremely sadistic and was critical towards many students in the lecture room who simply just wanted to better understand the material. Phrases such as "How do you not understand this?" or "Are you not even paying attention?" were used during the lecture specifically pointing at attentive students at the front of the class who just needed help understanding some of the difficult concepts. I've personally had a horrible time with this instructor and definitely not recommend this professor to any future engineering student who has even the slightest passion for Electrical Engineering as a career path.

Cabric is not bad for 102. I had her for both M16 & 102. M16 wasn't that great of an experience, but it wasn't too hard of a class either.

I actually liked her 102 class a lot. You have to pay attention and ask questions if you want to learn tho.

Cabric was average at best. As some people pointed out, she lectures using slides, but she isn't the most effective lecturer. The TA's could have taught the class much better than she did, and they answered every question in far more detailed fashion than she ever did. Discussion is extremely crucial; I got a pretty respectable grade in the class despite not going to lecture after the midterm, and bombing the final despite all of that, only because I relied on the discussion notes, questions, and the TA's. Homework prepared, but only slightly. The final was pretty hard in itself, and there was a policy to weigh your final more if you did better.

I learned something, but if you want a more detailed lecturer, I'd go with Yutao He.
