Quarter: Winter 2022
Grade: A-
March 29, 2022

I have nothing bad to say about Professor Cabric; she's an excellent lecturer and explains concepts fairly well. I'd be willing to take her again for future classes (pending TA situation).

The TA though.... I know on Bruinwalk I shouldn't 't curse, but there's a phrase with word that starts with an "f" and ends with an "-uck him" that can only describe my feelings for this TA. I wont name his name, but everyone who took this class Winter 2022 knows who I am talking about. Unironically, because holy sh*t, the anal-ness of this TA is beyond describable, off the f***ing charts. Let me put this lightly, you are getting maybe like 25% of the amount of pent up frustration and contempt I had in dealing with this particular TA. I ain't no joker now, don't get it twisted, but holy f*** I went almost insane several times on the homeworks, which can only be described as hell.

Pre-2022 tests are hard for Cabric, which were tough but fair. Our TA, on the other hand, had other ideas... lets just say, our exam medians were about 10-20 points lower than previous years. Lmao. This is because of how the class works; the TA is responsible for creating and grading all the homeworks and tests. In previous years, this wasn't a problem as most TAs I'd imagine aren't freaking psychotic masochists. Winter 2022 TA however was, making sure our life was a living hell. It got so bad even the professor had to step in in the later weeks to tell our TA, "bro, chill TF out!" Damage was done unfortunately with midterm and homework grades.

I at least got the grade I desired. Others less fortunate than me don't have it so nice. All I can say is, whatever the hell you do, if you do not want years of life expectancy taken off, do not take this class if the TA's name fits the initials A.W. Maybe he is misunderstood and I'm being a harshass, but real talk, do you really want to care about whether his intentions are good or not when its 4 AM and you are still stuck on his damn homework from hell? Lmao.

The class is very hard. Probably the toughest learning curve I have experienced so far. But this is not at the fault of Professor Cabric. She comes off as somewhat intimidating, but she is actually very kind and cares a lot about her students. The tests are hard, but mostly because of time constraints.

I don't have anything bad to say about Professor Cabric. I have plenty bad to say about the material though.

The midterm and test were definitely challenging. She is somehow able to manifest a normal distribution perfectly centered around 50% on the midterm and final. The tests have quite a bit of computation so practice is key. Her lectures are pretty clear, though the 8AM brain fog doesn't help. She handwrites on her tablet. Definitely review complex numbers beforehand. I think that she's a great professor and would recommend her.

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews for her. If you attend the lectures and understand all the materials covered in homework, this class is not undoable. Her lecture notes are very clear and state which part is important for exam. Everyone I know in her class gets an A, and I don't know why the grade distribution looks like this. It's true that there are a lot of mathematical computations involved in this class, but you can't avoid it even if you take this class with another professor.

Was a difficult class for me in terms of grasping the concepts, and the difficulty was intensified by the challenging homework problems and exams. Would recommend taking it with another professor during another quarter if you can.

Like the most recent review said, this is one of the hardest undergrad ee classes after M16. How well you do in this class depends on 2 things: 1.ability to grasp abstract mathematical concepts 2.participation. I for one am not the sharpest when it comes to math and her monotonous lectures did not particularly help me feel engaged in the class. I would suggest taking this class with Lorenzelli (who is much easier and engaging) unless you're an ee zombie. And then there are the awful tests...which required you to think levels outside of the box and were computationally messy. Averages this year are actually a bit higher than previous years, which hurt me more on top of struggling to understand the challenging concepts. Four major topics in this class I would say are: convolution integral, laplace transform, fourier series, fourier transform. Homeworks varied in difficulty (hw 2 and 6 were the hardest IMO). Project was a bitch(had to double check your math AND graph everything in matlab, which I personally despised). To sum it up, average dry lecturer, tough tests and assignments, lenient curve at the end I guess. Avoid if you can, unless you're willing to make this class your top priority for the quarter and are ok with using Matlab a lot.

The rumors are true, this class is one of the most difficult you can take after M16. Cabric is a clear teacher which is rare for a EE professor. But her homework and exams are on the impossible end of the spectrum. Grading is very fair and problems rely on you knowing the theory rather than memorizing strategies for solving problems as her and her super smart TAs design exams that are like convoluting puzzles (pun intended) and require on the spot thinking. If you really want to learn signals and systems then take it with Cabric, otherwise I'd go with an easier professor. This is for the diehard EE's only.

Cabric is not bad for 102. I had her for both M16 & 102. M16 wasn't that great of an experience, but it wasn't too hard of a class either.

I actually liked her 102 class a lot. You have to pay attention and ask questions if you want to learn tho.

For the longest time I never understood why Cabric gets such a low rating here. I had her for M16 and 102 and I thought she was fairly good, though a little boring during lectures. Homework was easy for M16 but challenging for 102. She was friendly in office hours and you could tell she actually cared about doing a good job in lecture. Her TA's where horrible however. In both cases (M16 and 102) her midterms were very straightforward and too easy, but the finals were both tricky. I hear a lot of people complain about the difficulty of her finals, but personally I think that it is just that they are very difficult compared to the midterms. To be fair her finals are difficult but fair, so you just have to be prepared. I'm no genius but I worked hard in her classes and did well. She's not strict with her grading policy either. I was in the top 20% for 102 and got an A. Seems pretty standard to me.
