I highly discourage taking PIC 10A with Professor Radke, especially if you intend to pursue the Specialization in Computing. The course was extremely simplistic when Radke taught it, and does not compare in rigor to any of the other PIC 10A professors. The assignments are very simple and can all be completed in half an hour, and the course inadequately prepares you for the rest of the PIC 10 sequence. It doesn't really help that Professor Radke is such a boring lecturer.
He is the most funny, engaging, and nice math professor that I ever take in UCLA. His lecture has slow pace, but easy to follow, and his exam is easy and straight. If he said this exam only takes about 2 hrs during covid, it is only 2 hrs. Also, he does not have quiz!! He is the best UCLA math prof ever!
Professor is very kind and helpful however the workload for this class is quite big. While the midterms where easier than the assigned HW. He asked us to turn in a HW before the final that had no chance of showing up on the final because the HW required using computers while the final does not allow calculators (a bit counter productive for students that are struggling in the class). If you are a math genius this class should be easy if you not it's not great.
This class wouldn't be as difficult as it is if Eric was persistent. In this class you will be assigned fairly simple hw questions all easy to understand and complete. However when the tests come around and you are given a practice worksheet it reflects nothing you did in the homework. It is extremely difficult and does not include any answers to check your work. If you want us to know how to do these hard problems give us them for homework or at least give us the answers so we know what the hell we're doing instead of letting us wander blindly...
