Laski was an amazing professor! He was very sweet, he's older so when we were on Zoom for the first few weeks he wasn't really sure how to work it but once we were in person he got back into his swing of things. He prints out all his slides and writes on them using a projector and it's honestly really helpful and makes it clear during lecture what he's doing.
I really enjoyed the material so I found the class really enjoyable but I think after the second midterm I started to slack off on studying because of a heavy courseload this quarter but it was definitely a fun class. Laski is retiring this year so if you have the opportunity to take it with him I would!
At first I thought I missed out not getting into Pham's class, but I soon realized Laski is amazing, probably better (IIRC Pham has a accent that may make it difficult to understand him). He is fantastic at explaining concepts and making them simple. So great that Pham uses Laski's pre-lecture videos in his own class. The workload is manageable. There are pre-class modules and short quizzes and clicker participation is required. I ended with a B because tests were quite challenging but it's probably my own lack of preparation to be honest. I highly recommend this class as an elective, and taking it with Laski specifically. 10/10
