Quarter: Spring 2016
Grade: A+

Although Wong talks fast and the powerpoint lectures can be insanely long, the material is extremely interesting. His midterm and final are both worth 45% of your grade (multiple choice) and the class is straight-scale, so there isn't a whole lot of room to wing it. However, he offers 3 extra credit opportunities throughout the quarter which can boost your final grade up to 3%. His exams are relatively straightforward. In addition to memorizing the powerpoint slides, make sure to write down the examples he says out loud for some of the definitions/concepts, because often those examples will appear on the exam almost verbatim. The exam questions focus more on scenarios/examples rather matching a definition with a concept. Overall the class is manageable and covers a lot of cool material.

Quarter: Fall 2016
Grade: N/A

Overall, this was a great class. The professors teaching is very clear, and straightforward and he manages to keep the class engaged. He is also very understanding and reasonable when it comes to student's work load and exams. Studying is obviously a MUST if you want to pass with the best grade possible. Also, as others mentioned he uploads his lecture slides online which is a plus.
I'm currently selling a loose leaf version of the class text book for $75 . If interested, please text at

Quarter: Spring 2016
Grade: A+

Professor Wong is a very organized and clear lecturer. He does talk very fast to get through all the material, but this usually just means you need to write fast and get out of the 2 hour lecture early. Professor Wong makes it pretty fun and interesting. It's best to attend class, since he says some things not on the slides.

This class is pretty easy if you took AP Psych in high school, and it's pretty much just memorizing all of the material on the slides. The class is two (non-cumulative) multiple choice tests (50 each) that are each 45% of the grade, and another short research assignment. You can boost your grade if by 3% by doing the EC (super easy, but you need to be in lecture to get the paper you turn in for extra credit).

Overall, I found this to be an easy, enjoyable class, and would definitely recommend taking it if you find psychology interesting or want an easy class to take!

I highly recommend this class with Prof. Wong. He's very nice and generous, especially giving out three extra credit points to your grade throughout the quarter. The first two are given random times during the quarter at the end of class so you have to be there to receive it. You get the third one if more than 80% of the class fills out the evaluations. Don't really have to go to lectures but they're amusing and you never know when he's going to give the bonus points. The book is not needed for the course. His tests aren't that hard; the TAs made a great study guide for us before the midterm and final that covered most of what we needed to know.

Psych 10 is definitely a workload. This class is straight scale so what you earn is what you earn. The midterm and final are worth 45% each, the research requirement is 10%, and he gave us 3 chances at earning extra credit which is a really great bonus. The book is ranged between 80-100+ bucks but truthfully speaking, you do not really need it. The key to passing this class is focusing on the power points in class and actually attending class. I made the mistake of focusing too much on the textbook for the midterm so that's why I ended up with such a low grade. Wong is an amazing professor, he is very enthusiastic and you will know when sitting down in class for almost 2 hours if psych is the right major for you. He is really funny and honestly just makes the class so much fun, I would recommend this class if you are good at keeping up with a fast pace class and are good at memorizing things easily.

Professor Wong is the best. 10/10 would take another class with him, he brought starbursts for the entire class (like 200+ people) once. Also DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. Seriously, several people told me this, and I still bought it to be safe, I opened it maybe 5 times to look at some concepts I didn't follow during lecture, but I EASILY could've gone without it.

Our TA was helpful because she made study guides for the midterm and final and had review sessions. I basically just studied the day before both (minus going to the review session), and if you just review the study guide questions and the lecture slides you'll be fine (it is a LOT of brute memorization though).

Professor Wong also gave out a total of 3 extra credit points to your final grade if you did the assignments (had to be at lecture to get the assignments which is tricky because his lectures are almost exactly just the lecture slides that he puts online so you're tempted to sleep in often).

Definitely recommend this class as an easy easy GE, especially if your a North Campus major who needs a science GE.

Quarter: Fall 2015
Grade: A

The class was fairly straightforward, although the amount of work was pretty brutal. It's a basic memorization class, and did not really require students to apply concepts to novel situations. If I remember correctly, Prof. Wong gives 3 points of extra credit, and 10% of the final grade is free, so there is no reason not to get an A in the class. The grade breakdown:

Midterm - 45%
Final - 45%
SONA Participation - 10% (you just have to sign up and attend, and you get 10% of the grade!)

All in all, he's a good professor, not great. I think the class is worth taking. Study the lecture slides over and over, because he only tests material from those slides. I am selling the leaf loose version of the textbook 11th edition for the cheapest price you'll find ($55 and negotiable)! Email me at uclabookseller@gmail.com :)

This was definitely an interesting class; however, I found it difficult at times because this class requires A LOT of memorization. The midterms are fairly straightforward, but be prepared to memorize all of the slides word for word! You definitely do not need to get the textbook since everything you are tested on is on the slides. Although I did learn a lot, I wouldn't consider this class as an easy GE.
