I feel the class would have benefited greatly if the students were given room to ask questions and have discussions during class to better understand the material.
All of the information was pretty overwhelming and difficult to know what to focus on.
But hey, as you can see below, some people really enjoyed the course! Just because it's not for me, doesn't mean you won't love it.
Heritage and Clayman seem like cool guys.
Haha anyways I'm selling the textbook,
Goodluck ya'll!

Great professors, learned lots of valuable knowledge, best course I've taken at UCLA. Clayman's and Heritage's lecturing style is amusing, informative, and straight to the point. Grading is fair and TAs are excellent. Take the course, don't think about it a second more, just take the course.
Great class. You LEARN A LOT and the professors are really engaging and fun to talk to. You can tell they are PASSIONATE about the subject and really want you to learn. However, you do have to put in some work to do well. This quarter (Fall) I heard that only 6 people out of 130 got As. It is not a hard class, should be a relatively easy B or B+, but if you want that A, you need to work for it. Overall, I highly recommend it. It is rare for me to remember something after a class and I remember every lecture crystal clear and will take away something for the future that is applicable to my everyday life. The assignments are fun and challenge you to the perfect amount.
This class is very unconventional. Its looking at "transcripts" of conversations and then analyzing them. Because its so different, i found the class pretty interesting. 8 am hurt and had me missing quite a few lectures, but i made it. The assignments are pretty chill. Minimal effort will get you a B.
