Professor Pang is a good lecturer. He teaches well and his presentation slides are okay. He speaks very fast though, but he doesn't have very thick Asian accent, in my opinion. Even though chem 14bl materials are easy but Professor Pang makes it harder.

To get an A in this class, 1) make sure you get your friends' lab reports and understand the concepts behind experiment. Many people just copied and DO NOT study, that's why they missed questions in midterm and final.
2) Go to his office hour is also good idea. He is very gentle in his office hour and tells you how to do the experiment.
3) Don't screw up your MIDTERM. Pang's midterm is notoriously hard. It's very conceptual. Make sure you understand fully from your lab reports.

I got an A in this class. It was hard to get and I studied very hard. Make sure you review your lab report again before exam. That's very helpful!!

Terrible teacher. Never responds to any emails even if it about your midterm grade or something important. Lecture examples are so simple and test questions are 100 times harder. He might make a final on the computer for 1 hour instead of the 3 usual hours you get for a final. He doesn't even tell you the final will be on the computer. I ended up with a B in the class with a lot of effort and studying.

This class seemed like a lot of work for a 3 unit class.

The labs weren't too bad. I didn't have an old lab to look at so the reports took me a while to write up, but I definitely had to understand what I was doing. My TA wasn't too bad, we would occasionally complain about the grading to him but he seemed understanding and was sorry he couldn't do anything about Pang's grading scale.

Pang has a bit of an issue with the test bank and implemented a new test policy this session so that the tests are no longer given back. There are still tests in the test bank but overall they weren't entirely helpful because the right answers weren't written on the tests. Just review the slides, lab reports, and the study guides (KNOW CONCEPTS) and it shouldn't be too bad.

CPR was annoying. I don't know who came up with a system in which other students grade your work, but it was definitely frustrating.

The organic techniques book is available online as a viewable pdf so don't bother buying it, BL uses it for two sections only.

Not too bad of a class. I went to class the first two weeks but eventually stopped because I didn't feel like I needed him to teach the concepts of our labs. For the most part, he just reads from the slides and you just copy down the notes. He does talk really fast. I found it useful to just copy the notes from friends who did go to class. haha.

Study his notes and just go to youtube if you don't understand the concepts. I felt like that helped a lot. And practice midterms are extremely useful. I did like 5 practice midterms and as a result did well enough for him to personally write "good" on my test. And in case youtube doesn't help, I would read the textbook for the class.

In addition to that, I copied all of my labs literally word for word with different numbers and sucked up to the TA a lot. It's also a good thing to have a chill TA. Shawna is the best so if you have her you'll be solid.

Also, you can make bank of this class from selling old pre- and post- labs, I even fudged some numbers on purpose to make sure if there is a curve I'm ahead

Also, the book is free here:

this class will pay dividends over and over again

This class is literally the easiest class you'll take.

You receive full credit when you have old pre- and post- labs going years back, old cpr printouts for calibrations and essays, and past exams from the test bank and friends and frats

From there you're given full credit for 66% of the class: 9% for CPR freebie, 30% post lab freebie, 20% pre lab freebie, and 7% technique freebie,

the midterm at 13% and the final at 21%

If you can score 50% on any of these then you're good, and if you can't i have to say youre retarded as 1 question was reused and another was phrased differently from a past exam, another was a freebie and straightforward, so that's only one and half questions you need to think about

And the final was mostly written with one calculation and one multiple choice

You have to earn at least a B+ from this, and I have secured my A as I scored well above the average on the midterm to possibly fail if or if there isnt a curve

I don't understand the ratings here.

Don't rely on the curve because there isnt one, just get ahead and do your work. There was this one asian kid asking the TA for more points on a lab,

I have to say you're stupid to do this as most people have the labs and if you don't and you're doing bad, you should just drop out already or be my vacuum cleaner, as I don't thin the TAs have any power over your labs as I got full credit on mine

If I ever see that Asian again, I'll be be rough, but overall Pang was really gentle

He doesnt curve the class so 90% of the people get A's or B's like in Russell's class or Henary's, but he does give good lectures i guess
