If you have a positive attitude and enjoy learning, this is a great class. It is a lot of reading, but I feel that I have now been appropriately exposed to wonderful texts in a very short amount of time. This class taught me how to read in college. The lectures are packed with info, so engage with the material and it will be more enjoyable. As to the quizzes, my recommendation is to take paper notes on all the assigned online reading, and use those to review, it's very helpful. The teaching team is made of great TAs, and you get the sense that they are all friends, which makes it a very enjoyable cluster. I highly recommend it if you are the kind of person who likes school.

This man is genuinely rude, petulant and self-absorbed to an incredible degree. This class is all about him, which he makes clear from the outset and repeats at frequent intervals. I have twice seen this man go into petulant rants in class, and speak very badly of students who were not present (people who were late, missed a class, etc.). This man does not just crow about his own accomplishments, he puts down others. Do not go into this class expecting to do anything but regurgitate Nagy's ideas back to him. Do not disagree with ANY idea he puts forth, do not attempt original thinking, et cetera.
