She is DEFINITELY one of the BEST professors I have had at UCLA and makes me want to switch to be a Classics major. Her lectures are vibrant and exciting and keeps you awake and interested in the material. Everyone should take Classics 30. She doesn't have to read from a paper and lectures with lots of emotion and feeling, so you really get a feel for all of the myths. I love this class!! GREAT PROF.!
Professor Morgan is one if not the best professor I've had at UCLA. Her lectures are filled with emotion and you can tell she loves what she does. There are 2 midterms, both very easy. The material is extremely interesting so you'll more than likely stay caught up. In the beginning it's a bit dry, but it gets better.
I think that she is a good teacher. However, the lectures seemed to correspond to the book very closely, so going to lecture is not really a must. The paper topics for Classics 30 were absolutely stupid, and the fact that the use of outside sources is not permitted, makes for a very boring, uneducated paper.
Classics 30 with Professor Morgan was one of the best classes I've taken at UCLA. Her lectures are absolutely interesting and entertaining. The tests are pretty straightforward and class notes are available online. But I don't recommend taking this class if you don't plan on going to class...save the enrollment space for students who would actually appreciate a professor who cared about what she was teaching.
I think if you are a cramming typa student, you should not take this class.. i mean, the first midterm is easy but if you are not that interested in keeping up with the book, dont take it.. also, if you get a bad ta, it gets really boring and your grade will suffer since they give you the grades. i took it thinking it would be a breeze but turned out getting the worst grade out of all the classes i took for the quarter.
