I enjoyed having Dr. Westrup as my teacher. The break-down for the class is pretty straightforward: 3 essays, a group presentation, and participation points. As long as you do your weekly post, go to OH for essays, and participate frequently you should have no problem with getting an A. She is very helpful during office hours and she is willing to help improve your writing.
I really liked Professor Westrup. This is the perfect class to take as a freshman. You will have homework on Tuesday and Thursday (typically one hour max), and three short essays. Dr. Westrup really wants us to succeed and gives a lot of help with the essays. The zooms are two days a week but they go by fast, she is not boring. I highly recommend this class.
She's pretty chill & willing to help you out if you attend office hours.
Some prompts are pretty ambiguous, but you'll get the hang of it after screaming for an hour or so. (Or, as always, crash office hours)
Nice lady, easy prof to fulfill Writing I + diversity req.
Grades:
Participation: P/NP. There will be people who want to talk a lot, but she will encourage everyone to talk so you can get a P on participation.
HW: Just do you readings, man. It will matter cause it's your discussion topic for the next class.
Essays: 3. While you may not get a really good grade on the first one, it's not graded too heavily. Just do better on 2 & 3
Group Proj - One P/NP. As long as you get a good group you're fine.
