Quarter: Fall 2021
Grade: A
Nov. 30, 2021

The lecture was online and very predictable. It was the same format every week, like posting a discussion post, doing the readings/watching the videos, creating another discussion post related to the readings/videos, and exit surveys at the end of the week. The due dates were iffy at first, but she fixed them once the class gave input. The class material is really interesting and she reaches out to students in case they need help or have questions. There were no quizzes, just 2 Big Ideas Essays which have clear instructions and are graded pretty leniently and 1 group project presentation. Very easy and manageable class and helpful staff!

This class was so easy! It can be overwhelming at first because they're a lot of random assignments and due dates but the class is super enjoyable and the information is very interesting. The professor really wants to help you (and if you can get the TA Brenda Lopez she's AMAZING!). Would recommend this class to anyone interested in educ or looking for a low commitment fun class.

Overall the class was great, I learned a lot and the content was really interesting. It was online and there weren't really any lectures so I basically never saw Professor Mancevice except like once in office hours. My TA was amazing though, her name was Marlen and she deserves a shoutout, she was so sweet. There were a lot of readings and weekly assignments due several nights a week BUT everything was graded on completion instead of content, so as long as you did the work you were fine. The one thing that was letter graded was a group project which was pretty significant split between like 5-6 people in a topic you got to choose. They really prepared you for the project and ultimately the class wasn't too hard. Just make sure you do each of the little assignments each week, they're really easy and you just have to do them to get credit (not do them well).

For a professor in the education department, this professor is mediocre at teaching. Her lectures are mediocre. I rarely got anything out of them as a lot of it was summary. However, she is extremely nice and will try to help you if you ask for it. She literally says thank you at least 20 times per class. The discussions were not extremely useful if you ask me as they are just summaries and tiny group assignments, but the readings were, for the most part, extremely interesting in my opinion. Make sure you keep up with them and take the reading guides seriously as they become extremely useful when you are writing your two individual papers. As someone who is interested in pursuing education, I found the readings to be practical and/or eye-opening so I did not have a problem going through them. The group paper was kind of whatever, but that was because my group was not super helpful. If you take this class seriously by keeping up with the pace, you will learn a lot about education given all the resources. I'm glad to have taken this course, and it was not difficult to receive an A.

This class was a super easy one tbh. I didn't ever find myself stressing over it. Sometimes the class would get a little awkward because the professor really wanted students to participate but no one would. However, the professor is BEYOND sweet and the TAs are super helpful for this course. There were some busy work assignments like reading guides that kept you on track for your reading (had I not had this I wouldn't have read so I found these super helpful)

This was the first education class I took and I would definitely take it again. I enjoyed the class' structure and appreciated how much help I received from my TA. Every week, we completed a reading guide and posted a reflection on our discussion board. The reading guides were basically there to make sure you did the reading. If we didn't have the guides, I probably would not do the readings. The reflections were a great addition to the class because you could read how other people in your class felt about certain questions/ideas. There were two "Big Ideas" essays and I thought they were relatively easy, as I received a ton of feedback from my TA. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! We also had to attend a public talk (about education) before the quarter ended and wrote about it. As for our last assignment, it was a policy analysis group project. It was simpler than I thought it would be because my group worked well together. We basically just assigned each other a page to do and completed it pretty fast.
