I took her Russian90A. She is one of my favorite professors on campus. She is very thoughtful and helpful. So is the TA (Peter). The lecture is very organized and interesting. Midterm and final include MC, matching and an short essay. Overall, it's a pretty easy&fun class. Take her!

Spring 2016 - Professor Kagan was super good! She loves Russia and is so passionate about Russian history and culture. Going into this class, I didn't really know much about Russia and just took it because I needed a GE. Out of my 4 classes I took, this one was actually my favorite. Professor Kagan and her TA's were all super helpful, super approachable, and overall very intelligent regarding Russian history and culture. I definitely recommend this class!

I Recently finished RUS 187 and will soon be taking RUS 107 (for some reason I couldn't select the course). Professor Kagan is a super star among faculty in the Slavic Department. Consider yourself very lucky to be taught by her. I have had several classes with her and have always finished the course with a knowledge of the material. She has a genuine interest in the well-being of her students and will explain things until you get it. I can't wait for my next class with her. She is a must have professor! Make sure to enroll in her classes as much as possible!
