As a Soc major, I was dreading taking the Math pre-req. But Prof. Greene made this class completely do-able and I actually looked forward to going to class. She is EXTREMELY concerned about student learning and is a very interesting, organized lecturer. She made sure we understood all of the content before moving on and went slowly enough for everyone to fully grasp the concepts. I would absolutely recommend taking Math 2 with her--she is awesome and made this class way easier than I expected! What a sweetheart!

Fall 2021 - The workload was very heavy, the weekly homework takes a lot of time to complete. The two midterms were very challenging and I was often marked off almost all of the available points for simple errors such as a missing symbol, these simple errors almost made me fail the class.

Greene is the best math professor I've taken at UCLA. Her lectures are based in solving problems covered in the course in a step-by-step manner. She's pretty light on theory, incorporating it into the lecture after demonstrating how to solve the problem, which provides context for the theory. Her grading is fair and examinations are clear and there are no surprises. She extensively reviews the materials to be covered on the exam in class and in office hours. Problems on quizzes and exams are similar to the homework she assigns and nearly identical to her practice exams. Mean for the first midterm 77.5/100. Mean for second midterm 70/100.

Spring 2018 - - wiley plus- can be found for like $60 on ebay btw, useless af and we only had 4 assignments - hw- 2/8 assignments got dropped - tests- just like practice exams, DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS. test averages are like 85% - final curve was pretty good - she posts this girls lectures notes online and that's all you need. you really need to go to lectures tbh

Spring 2021 - Professor Greene really cared about the class. She made sure to accommodate our needs. She provided us with clear lessons. Her exams were very fair. They were exactly like the practice problems and homework problems. She assigned a fair amount of homework that was very doable. She did go over any of the homework problems you had questions on during office hours. I think the majority of points were from the exams, then homework which were no 6-10 questions, and some practice problems on the online subscription which gave you 5 attempts to try. Overall I would take this professor again.

Summer 2020 - Admittedly I found this class easy because I'd taken AP Calculus in high school, but I think even people without prior knowledge will do well with Professor Greene. She genuinely cares about her students, so she's always willing to answer questions and help you when you have trouble. Her lectures move at an appropriate pace and are pretty clear, and when something is unclear and you need clarification she's always willing to explain. Each homework assignment was only about 10 problems, and while there were several assignments due across the week, it was easily manageable; it wasn't busywork with too many useless problems. Exams were the same difficulty or slightly harder (but not too much harder) than homework. The TA Harris Khan was also very helpful, doing many clear examples and having a lot of office hours to help students. Overall, I'd highly recommend taking math with Paige Greene.

Fall 2019 - Professor Greene was extremely caring about her students and always had a positive attitude. She offers lots of office hours and brings in learning assistants too so it was easy to find someone to answer a question or help with the homework. The homework can take a long time some weeks but the exams are really straightforward if you take her practice tests. If math isn't your strong suit she's a great professor to have!

Spring 2020 - Unlike some of the professors here at UCLA, Greene does not assume you've already taken AP Calculus ABCDEFGHI.... in high school. She takes her time to explain important concepts thoroughly. Most importantly, connects them to real life examples that helps you realize the importance of calculus. I originally took the class with another professor but ended up dropping it because of how horrible the material SEEMED to me. Little did I know that the professor was just butchering calculus, so when I took this course with Greene, she showed me the true beauty behind calc. She is easy to comprehend and talks in a very clear manner. I went into the class hoping never to take another calculus class, but left wanting to take more. UCLA keeps hiring PhD students to teach classes that they have no business teaching because it saves them money. Greene is one of those rare professors who doesn't have a PhD, but has stuck around because she has a clear talent for teaching. If you're scared of calculus but want to like it it, take any course with her. You'll thank me and her later.
