Background: I hated Calc in high school and I got a 1 on the AP test.
Greene was a great professor as she explained all the concepts with great detail and in an organized way. She never seemed to be rushing or skipping over "basic concepts that you should have learned in high school" that many other professors tend to do.
Her exams are VERY fair I have no complaints.
How to get an A in this class: The homework is long yes but you can easily get close to a 97%+ on the homework.
Online Assignment: you get 3 tries, everyone should get a 100%
Midterms/Final: If you study her prac. problems, homework problems, and go to review sessions you WILL get an A. That's how I got A's on all my exams.
Grade: A+
Absolutely the sweetest and kindest professor I've had so far. She does an excellent job at explaining topics and goes over it in depth.
Breakdown:
Homework 15% (total of 8 and drops the lowest score)
Wiley Plus (Online Assignments) 10%
Midterm I 20%
Midterm II 20%
Final 35%
Since most people excel in the class, it's practically not graded on a 'curve'. Average scores on the midterms range from 85-90.
Both of the midterms are really easy because she provides practice problems which is literally whats on the exam and the TAs also release practice problems. The class is also really easy if you've taken AP Calc in high school.
However, if you're struggling in the class make sure to go to your TAs office hours and Professor Greene's. They're very helpful and accommodating.
She's very sweet and kind and enthusiastic in every lecture. She goes over each problem step by step, explaining everything as she moves along which made it very easy to understand the concepts. However, some of her examples were irrelevant to the exams. She holds consistent office hours where she actually does help out students in need in a very effective manner.
- Lectures are easy to understand
- Exams are very fair. No trick questions. She uses problems straight out of the textbook or from her posted practice problems. The midterms are very easy if you actually do and understand the problems she posts to study. However her final was a bit harder than expected but not to the point where you think it's unfair or too difficult.
- A hefty amount of homework and online assignments.

Paige Greene was the best! TAKE HER!!! She like a mom and cares about her students a lot. Some people said she goes into too much detail about the easy things, but I think that was good because she doesn't want people making stupid mistakes. Also people may have forgotten the calculus they learn in high school, so she was very helpful in showing you how she got the answer. Again she is the best!!!
