SELLING TEXTBOOK: Weaving Generations for $25, will also include midterm + final

The class is easy, so if you're looking for easy, take it. It's also pretty interesting, even though it is kind of repetitive. Lectures are a bit dry because she just reads off the slides, but that also makes it easy to follow I guess. Honestly, it's easy and interesting enough that I think you might as well take it. It isn't nearly as bad as all the other reviews make it seem.

IGNORE GRADE DISTRIBUTION, Yes! People got A's. But this class is by no means worth your money, time, or stress. The exams are too tricky and specific (she literally put questions about the name of a co-researcher and what her "intent" was for writing a book) -- questions that were never explained in lecture/discussion/book and are just random in nature so you are gambling with your grade no matter how hard you work. The class is slow and dull, and then the exam hits you in the face and you feel unprepared. I honestly think she is a kind person, but she doesn't care about student learning and she has too much experience for her to be reading monotonously off of slides. I ignored all of the reviews, saw the grade distribution, and WENT FOR it. I regret it, I worked extremely hard for this A and at the end of the day, I learned absolutely nothing and sat through a class that I feel should never have been approved to be taught. Y'all..take psych and ed/intimate relationships/language development /LITERALLY ANY OTHER PSYCH ELECTIVE, do not waste your time on this one.

Okay so my review is very mixed. If you care about being interested in what you are learning, I wouldn't take this class. I took it as an elective (because there are plenty more interesting classes in the B column i.e. Psych 130). I regret taking it as an elective because THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER INTERESTING CLASSES OUT THERE and I feel like I wasted a class opportunity. Anyway, Greenfield is a sweet grandma but she READS EVERYTHING OFF HER SLIDES, making it nearly impossible to be engaged, not to mention she is a little conceded and only talks about her theory. But, that being said, it isn't a very hard class and her theory is kind of interesting and the films she shows in class are pretty cool. I hardly showed up and got an A- ... selling the book!!!! (p important to doing well)

MOST BORING CLASS ON THE PLANET. I'm supposed to be studying for her final that I'm having in the next few hours, but am literally so bored by her material that I'd rather write a scathing review. This professor should not be allowed to teach a course at all, let alone at UCLA. She's borderline narcissistic cuz all she teaches about is her theory, which is ridiculously simple and could be summed up in 10 minutes of one class period. She then teaches about her life of studying textiles. TEXTILES. Take this class and you learn boring information about textiles. Legit, not a psych class. The material is ridiculously boring. I'd rather watch grass grow than sit through one of her mundane lectures, or read ANY of the material she assigns. All of the other reviews are 100% accurate. I'm a comm. major and I'd rather have taken a math class than bore myself with this nonsense

I went against all the reviews and took 133G. Even though all the reviews were bad, I realized that the workload wouldn't be too much which is why I took it. I just completed the evaluation and I have never ever put more into an evaluation than I have for Professor Greenfield. DOOOO NOTTTT TAKE THIS CLASS. Even though it's relatively easy compared to all my classes, DO NOT TAKE IT. Literally in my evaluation I put down that 133G should not be a class at UCLA. By going to the second lecture you literally know all the information that's needed to know. She just applies her theory of social change to every community there is to prove that her theory is valid. Obviously cultures change?????? It's so obvious and stupid to me that I.T frustrates me that it's even a class. I did not learn one psychological component at all. The only psychological component is that SHE did the research for her theory of social change. Her entire class is on her boring research to show us how cultures change to become more urbanized... DUH?? It's so stupid to me. Even though it's easy, to me it's more frustrating than taking a hard class because it's so dumb. Don't waste your time taking this class. I hope that UCLA actually considers their evaluations and removes this class from being offered. I.T really shouldn't be offered.

Other than that, there's a group project that's 50 points and I got a 44.5 for some reason. Then, you have to go to class on the days that she asks you to participate in. It's super easy you just have to answer some questions on a piece of paper then turn it in. Hint: she only asks for your participation when there's a movie!!! Then there's discussion attendance (you can skip one though). We didn't have a midterm, we just had a response to her exhibition which was out of 30 points but I've heard her tests are tricky. She lets you keep your test so there's a high chance you'll be able to find someone's test in a test bank or something.

TLDR; easy but stupid class. apparently tricky tests. take another interesting class over this one. this class shouldnt be taught at ucla. literally pointless

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. It seems easy because the material is simple and common sense- revolves around the same 2 topics (her theories) and repeats itself in everything. However, memorizing and understanding the material is nowhere near enough, it does not prepare you. She purposely tries to trick you and I really don't think she wants her students to do well. She is rude, never answers questions, and does not teach, only reads her slides word for word.
I studied a lot, read the book, and felt extremely confident on my knowledge for the material. I went in thinking I would do great as I knew everything, but her tests are so unfair and veered away from the true content of the class.

Horrible course, do not take it at all.
