Khankan is the best professor to take an LS series class with. She has taught the LS core classes for many quarters so she has a very in depth understanding of the material and what will be asked on the exams. She is also very approachable, passionate about the material she is teaching, and will answer any question about the material no matter how simple or straightforward (so don't be afraid to ask questions!!) I highly highly recommend to attend her office hours which are extremely helpful!! Even if you don't have any questions, she clear up confusing concepts and test students with example (very realistic) exam questions.

Prof. Khankan was one of the greatest professors I have had so far at my time at UCLA. She was very good at explaining complicated topics and offered many office hours for more options to understand. She was very straightforward and cared about her students. This quarter was online, but she handled it very well and offered many resources and alternatives for students in special circumstances. If you have the option to take her, do it.

Khankan is hands down the best LS professor I have encountered. I think by 7C the points and wording on questions and worksheets were pretty standard, 7C just felt like there was a lot more material than the others. That being said it was the most interesting material. The first midterm was pretty easy, the second midterm required you to have some material just memorized which was unexpected(bc they're literally always harping about how we do not have to memorize anything), and the final was about on par with the second midterm--the new material was extremely easy and the review was a lot of "yeah sure sounds about right". I did not put in that much work for this class in terms of studying (maybe like 2 hours total for the first midterm, 6 hours for the second, and a fair amount for the final) but I also tend to do well on the logical way the questions are worded on the exams. Overall what changed this course for me was going to her office hours almost every single time. They were so helpful and honestly really enjoyable to the point that even if you felt you understood everything or knew nothing, you would come out having learned a lot and feeling better. She is incredibly nice and genuine, but she's also just not afraid to act like a real human being with us. 10/10 would recommend. she also ended up curving our course at least 2% in the end fyi.

I would highly recommend taking this class with Professor Khankan! Her teaching style is great; her lectures are very clear, she answers questions and makes herself available to students.
This class focuses more on problem-solving skills applied to course material rather than intensive memorization of the material. Hence, you are better off studying the hand-outs, graphs, rather than learning every piece of information.

This class was so great! Professor Khankan was an amazing lecturer, and I honestly found it difficult to not understand things when she explained. The material covered in the course was still difficult and required much review and analysis (CLC sessions are SO important for this), but Professor Khankan makes herself available as often as possible after lecture or during office hours. Some of the questions on Launchpad (the online homework/textbook platform) were sort of unfair, in my opinion, which was exacerbated by the fact that every point counted in this class. However, if you attend CLC sessions, office hours, and make the most of every lecture, you will succeed. Be sure to practice analyzing every physiological system (from genes to skin to digestive system to the whole body) for each of the three exams in this course.

Dr. Khankan is the BEST! I fell in love with biology in this class and Khankan just made the experience even better. She gives engaging lectures and does not hesitate to help her students out. If you have the chance to take any class with her, jump on it -- your grade and learning will thank you.

If you're taking this class, you're probably already used to the 7 series and know the level of difficulty of tests. I would say I found 7B tests harder but only because I didn't enjoy the content so I didn't learn as well. In this class, human physiology is so damn interesting and it more or less came as second nature to me on the tests. However, this class being online meant the midterms had short answers (which was new to the 7 series) and the professors did NOT allow us to look at what we missed on the MCs (which definitely hindered my understanding and learning) so in general the class did mediocre on the midterms.

Khankan is one of the best lecturers I've ever had at UCLA. She explains concepts and clicker questions very clearly and her office hours are so helpful if you want to do well in the class. She's super understanding and caring. LS7C is a pretty tough class so I would definitely recommend taking it with Khankan!

Took Khankan over Esdin because Khankan Bruincasted and I knew from friends who took the class already that Esdin did not (maybe changed now?). 7C was definitely the hardest class out of the LS 7 series. I did bad on the first midterm, but when I started watching every Bruincast they helped A LOT and I was able to do better on midterm 2 and the final. I'd basically watch every Bruincast again, something I barely did in 7A and 7B, to hear her explanations for every clicker question. A lot of the stuff on Launchpad is NOT helpful, especially when it talks about all the body systems in different organisms, so I would only look at Launchpad for super specific questions about something when studying.
Khankan lived on the Hill so it was super convenient when she held OH/Reviews the night before the midterms and final on the Hill at like 10 pm. I only went to one of her OH though because they were pretty crowded but I went to my TA's before every midterm to ask specific questions and practically no one else was there. Final was weird--it was super easy for all the gene editing/bacteria stuff (Weeks 7-10) but everything else pertaining Weeks 1-6 (30% of questions on the final) was pretty hard. Definitely study Weeks 1-6 for the final.

I really liked Dr. K. She was really nice, understanding, knowledgable, and overall a great professor. It's very clear that she's passionate about teaching and cares a lot about her students. It's about the same structure as 7A (presumably across the entire 7 series but I didn't take 7B as it's not required for my major) with clickers, launchpad, discussion worksheets, exams on ccle, etc. It's graded on a straight scale and based on a set number of points.

The exams were pretty hard though. There's a lot of tricky questions that you have to read over and over again. One word can change the context of the entire question so you can't make assumptions. If you do, that's an indicator that you have to reevaluate the question. Definitely try to use the entire amount of time allotted, even if you finish early. Check your answers. It can be real frustrating lol. It's definitely harder than 7A imo. Thankfully I was doing this class and another physio class at the same time so I got to see similar concepts multiple times which probably helped out a lot. Out of the things given directly from this class (this doesn't include the problem solving sessions), discussion worksheets and clickers were the most helpful resources when studying the exams.
The group phase of the midterm exams are slightly different from 7A. There's 2 parts: an untimed group "consensus" with only a couple questions to do and a timed 15 - 20min phase of MCQs and fill-in-the-blanks.

Discussion, clickers, launchpad, etc are pretty standard. Launchpad is time consuming as usual but necessary to understand things in lecture. Multiple extra credit opportunities were offered (roughly 15 pts worth?).

The class is definitely doable but not easy. You have to be cautious on wording and make sure you understand every diagram shown.

I found 7C to be by far the most interesting class of the 7 series. Dr. K was extremely caring and super available to help. The exams can be really tough and 7C gets a really bad rap as the final 7 series class but if you are proactive, you can definitely do well in this class. You can't go wrong with taking this class with Dr. K.
