Spring 2017 - Professor Haley had some really great. insightful and thought-provoking lectures. She really made me re-think the true meaning of feminism and gender studies. The work load was fairly light -- 3 mini-reviews on readings, one mid-term and one final. She does use power point slides, but does not post them on the website so taking notes is a MUST. No, this class was not the easiest gender studies class, however, if you make the effort to go to office hours, show up to class and do the work, you will walk out with a decent grade, but most importantly with a new perspective! Def. recommend

Spring 2020 - The topic this quarter was Black Feminism. I really enjoyed this class! It was really interesting and educational. Haley designed this course around the media representations of black women, queer, trans, and nonbinary folks, so a lot of the assigned material was films or tv shows, which was really engaging. The grading was broken down by attendance + discussion in assigned labs, 3 one-page response papers in reference to the material that week, a midterm conversation where you worked with another person in the class to write + answer one another's discussion questions, and an art book final project. I definitely recommend taking this class :~)
