Dr. Popham is a really fun and interesting professor! She has an agenda for each class session, and her discussions are very engaging. I like how she relates certain readings to real life situation. There are 3 papers for the class. No final, but there is a portfolio due. She is also big on annotations! You actually get graded for it.
With that being said, I am selling my Read to Write book for only $15 with a lot of writing (annotation). message me if you're interested 3109511215

Anyone taking ENGCOMP 3 with Dr. Popham
These are the required texts:
1. Murray's Read to Write - $10
Slightly worn, still in fine condition. Has some writing in margins and highlighter which is a plus because you can pass off my annotations as your own so you won't have to annotate.
2. Murray's The Craft of Revision - $20
Great condition. Has some highlighter and writing in margins which is a plus because you can pass off my annotations as your own so you won't have to annotate.
3. Lunsford's EasyWriter - $20
Great condition!
Message me if interested at: 446605@etusd.org
Price negotiable.
If you have time and are genuinely interested in become a better writer then this is the class for you.
She is a clear teacher and allows you to revise and edit your papers until there are perfect.
However, the workload in this class is very, very heavy. I definitely felt as if I was drowning at some points.
Overall great English class. Had Popham for both Comp2 and Comp3.
There is a total of 3 papers for each class, all of which you work on progressively throughout the quarter. Before this class, I hated English, but Professor Popham has changed that. She truly teaches you how to write. If you don't mind putting in the time, this class will pay off. It is quite a bit of work but you will see the results. Revise your drafts as much as possible! And don't be scared to ask for help. She looks for effort and that will get you a better grade
workload is heavy but if you make efforts, you will be fine. I get an A. Sell three required books for her class. I have necessary notes on my book to make you save much time and make class much easier. Text me: 3109624479 if you want the books.
The workload is really too much and but you will learn a lot. However you really have to revise a lot on your paper and every week there are a lot of assignments. After all it is doable. Email me if you need the three required textbooks for her course. My email is jenny-yc@163.com
She is a very thorough teacher and at times her workload may seem like a lot, but the class is do able. There are a lot of handouts and workshops and she expects you to revise. I was a good student who got excellent marks on all assignments but when it came to the end of the quarter after revising my 3 papers multiple times, my final grade came out to a B-.
I have never worked so hard in an English class, and having put in extra effort on essays and revising was shocked at this grade.
People say take this class because it will make you a better writer, but I don't think that is the case. I just learned how to write to her standards. If I were you I would go with an easier and less strict teacher who doesnt have these many guidelines.
