Take him don't hesitate!! LS30A with Professor Bennoun was by far my favorite class this quarter and I am very lucky to be in his first class at UCLA!! He is kind, genuine, and approachable, always down to answer questions from students. Textbook is free and grading is lenient. Although the textbook can be confusing at first because it talks about conceptual things very differently from high school math, Professor Bennoun does such a great job explaining the material. The study groups made us feel connected. I feel so sad that Professor Bennoun is not teacher LS30B next quarter :"(
Professor Bennoun is great! I found his lectures to be really interesting and it wasn't hard to pay attention. He is soooo helpful with homework and he really tries his best for us to succeed. Also his slides are really organized and test our knowledge with clicker questions. Overall his class was really engaging and if you have the option to take 30A with Bennoun, do it! You won't regret it.
Professor Bennoun does a great job at teaching this course. The resources provided to us allow us to better understand the concepts. Additionally, he is easy to approach during lectures or office hours when confused on topics. If you complete the homework, follow along during lectures, and occasionally attend office hours, you should succeed in LS30A. The class covers a wide range of topics, including calculus and new concepts that connect the material to the life sciences. If you have any doubts about the topics on the midterm or final, Professor Bennoun will certainly help you better understand it. Overall, this class was great and definitely helped me, thanks to the professor and the resources!
Professor Bennoun is honestly such a great professor and a great person in general. His lectures are very thorough and understandable, while being engaging at the same time. In class, we would have Clicker questions that test our understanding on the topic that we are learning and occasionally if the class is split on the question, he would make us go to Breakout rooms with our lab group. Make sure you try your best to get to know your lab group as you may work on Stage 1 and 3 of both the midterm and finals with your group. If you are going to be taking LS30A in the future, I highly recommend taking it with Professor Bennoun!
Professor Bennoun is an absolute KING! He is helpful, patient, kind, easygoing, and overall a wonderful professor. His lectures were very straightforward and easy to understand, and he never hesitated to answer questions or help a student out. He was SO nice, and he even let us make a list of songs for him to play before class started! He is, BY FAR, one of my favorite teachers ever. He is a genuinely kind and smart person, and the class was a breeze with his teaching and help! My only regret is not waiting to take LS30B till spring quarter so I could have him again. THIS MAN IS AMAZING!! 100000/10 recommend, we love you Professor Bennoun!!
Professor Bennoun is the most outstanding professor I have ever taken. His willingness to help every student alongside his amazing attitude sets him apart from other professors. His lectures are clear and precise, and the midterm and final are based off of his lectures. There are no surprises, and he does not try to trick his students with material he has never gone over. For a portion of the midterm and final, he allows his students to collaborate with groups. His grading is extremely fair, and he's always enthusiastic to answer any questions his students may have. Do yourself a favor and please take him!
Professor Bennoun is the best! He is clear and organized in lecture. All of his lectures are recorded and he also recored office hours for those who could not attend. He is accommodating and understanding given the current circumstances of online learning. I will definitely be taking other classes of his, and would recommend that you do too!! He made for the best quarter.
Professor Bennoun is absolutely a great professor. I love how he starts classes with music (he lets us choose) and he is super lenient. He is very engaging, often cracks jokes, and is very organized. Super nice, super great, 100% recommend. He is very understanding and clear with lectures and he is always willing to help! Anyone wanting to take LS30A should choose Bennoun.
This is a great class with an amazing Professor. Prof Bennoun is very caring, nice, and explains things in a clear, interesting, and enjoyable way. The grading is very fair and the textbook is provided for free. The TAs and learning assistants are really good. There are a decent number of assignments so write them down in a planner so you don't miss deadlines and give yourself several hours a week for homework and labs. The workload is very reasonable. I highly recommend this Professor and class. It's a really good class and the Professor is awesome and really respects and cares about students.
