Quarter: Fall 2021
Grade: P

This class is so so so so so important - I think every Junior/Senior needs to take this class at least once. The class is very easy. It's listed as a 3 hour class but Peterson would usually end class after an hour. You can choose your assignments based on a list of topics he gives, and some of the topics give you the chance to reflect on your internship. There's a 5-8 page paper at the end of the quarter, but all you really need to do is reflect on your internship & what you've learned. This class is meant to HELP you! Most classes brought in guest lectures from industries like entertainment, government, marketing, and more! I am still in contact with one of the guest lecturers, and she's been so helpful! So, this class is a GREAT way to network! Peterson is awesome. He would share interesting stories during class, and he would give us AMAZING advice on careers, internships, networking, interviews, resumes, etc. All of the topics he goes over are crucial for every student to know before graduating. He's also very helpful outside of class too, just send him an email or ask to set up a meeting. He responds to emails in a timely manner! He will even look at your resume and offer feedback - just ask! This class prepares you for the real world. Not many other classes do that. Make good use out of your time at UCLA and take this class - you need it and you will be happy you took it. Don't think twice just enroll! Trust me!

Dr. Peterson is a great professor, great person, and genuinely cares about each student's success. He brings in guest speakers (most of which are very successful) who detail their work experience and how they achieved the level of success they are at.

In short, if you are in an internship or actively looking for an internship; this class will help you grow, teach you professional skills, and expose you to industries that you have little knowledge about. You also get to network with these guest speakers. Highly recommend.

Super easy way to get internship credit- you don't even need to have an internship to be in the class, you just need to be actively looking.
You write a few mini projects throughout the quarter based on the # of units you want for the class. They are all super easy. Example projects are writing a daily journal of tasks at your internship or interviewing a staff member.
Online it says lecture is 3 hours but it is really around 1 hour. There are guest speakers most weeks. You only have to go to like 7 lectures.
Final is just a 4 page paper about your internship. Syllabus says like 10 page paper, but its really only 4 pages.
