Fall 2017 - Professor himself is nice and SO SWEET, but the TA's do all the work and this year's TA's grade very critically. He used to give midterm topics beforehand but this year did not do so whatsoever. Also, he has an extremely thick accent and is hard to understand. He's like the uncle I've always wanted, but... not the best at teaching.

I took him for Korean M60 and Korean 177. I got a B+ in both class (which I deserved). I never did all the readings. He's a generous grader. His lectures are boring its hard to listen to his accent. He gives you 4 short papers to turn in, in which you can choose the readings you want to cover. So you really don't have to do all the reading. The final is either a research paper 6-8 pages or in class essay writing which you are given 6 essay prompts and you have to write 3. He gives you 12 possible essay prompts for the finals. His classes aren't hard as long as you do some of the readings and have a general understanding of Korean history. His lectures are boring but the information does help you when you write the 4 short papers and final. If you're lazy its still do-able to pass. He really wants to help.

Winter 2019 - Very interesting content, the professor makes it this class easy, one 2 pages journal per week, one final exam open book just write as much as you can then you get an A. Final was gonna be the same thing but the campus got suspended so he made it 2 papers just like the weekly journal.
