Spring 2016 - Berges herself is a decent lecturer in the accounting department. I haven't fallen asleep in her class once, but that's mostly due to the insane pacing of the course. It's usually one chapter per 2 hour nonstop lecture. Recommendation is to study continuously and not cram a few days before the exam (speaking from experience). The exams are not overly complicated; the difficulty lies in the amount of material you're expected to retain and know every step of. It's largely a memorization course and her lectures are almost exactly scripted from the textbook. You HAVE to buy the course reader. It's a life saver when you study. Scored an 89 on the midterm, took the final today and I think I did relatively well, so I do recommend Berges, but only if you can pace yourself or are willing to go crazy cramming before exams.

Spring 2021 - I got a good grade, but wouldn’t recommend the professor. She would be a good mentor and person to know otherwise, but she will mess with your mind as a professor. Expect all of her quizzes to be filled with trick questions. Don’t bother with the textbook problems (I never even looked at them), just study the examples on her slides. Do the tax return project with your peers, because she will pick it apart viciously.

Fall 2017 - Professor Berges was a great teacher in terms of how informative she is and how much information she has to give you during office hours. She brought in some great guest speakers and really took the time each time I met with her to go over the practicality of the class and applying it to my business. There were some things on tests that seemed like they could have been afforded a bit of leeway (i.e. exact wording for fill in the blank answers) but overall, it was a good course and I enjoyed it!
