Yes, I agree that her lectures can be disorganized-and you will experience a great deal of confusion, but prof. Scanlan really cares about her students. Since it's a small class, she knows every one pretty well. I managed to get an A so this class is totally doable, just pay attention in class, GO TO TA OFFICE HOURS & TAKE GREAT NOTES. All the answers can be found in the readings.
I'm selling my 137A notes. Email me at sportspsychnotes@gmail.com if you're interested
AVOID THIS CLASS!!! She is the worst professor I have EVER had at UCLA. Extremely unorganized and not attentive to students' needs. And more than that the topic was not at all as interesting as I thought it would be. Reading the book and course reader served no purpose because all test questions can from her unorganized lectures. I don't know how in the world she got to teach at such an amazing university, but she needs to be fired.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!! It's true that this is the worst class ever! I'm a good student and when I checked Bruinwalk before signing up for the class I just thought people were overreacting about how bad the class was but it sucks and I did horribly. She's a spastic lecturer and I never knew what was going on and all I wanted was to fall asleep but she is really good at knowing you you are that you can't. I put in so much effort and got nothing good back!
Worst class I ever took. I wish I could have dropped it. She had to add so many extra points to the midterm and final and everyone still ended up doing horribly. I would not recommend this class to anyone. I studied so much and my journal was amazing, but the questions were so specific and out of nowhere, that everyone was lost. Do not take this class!!!!! I rather take 100b again....It really messed up my GPA.
